In her artistic work, Antje Pfundtner in Gesellschaft (APiG) explores the sharing of resources and the gathering of relationships and knowledge.

For fall 2027, Antje Pfundtner in Gesellschaft is planning a play at Kampnagel Hamburg on the topic of aging and is now launching a year-long research project addressing the question: How do you feel about getting older?<\/strong>

It is an ageless question that applies to every person when it comes to reflecting on one\u2019s own living conditions: Where do I stand physically, emotionally, socially, economically, and politically? How much of the past is behind me, and how much of the future lies ahead? What conclusions do I draw from this?

For Antje Pfundtner in Gesellschaft, aging is a cultural-political and sociological metaphor for what is arguably society\u2019s most collective process of transformation. For we age together and at all times – just not all under the same conditions. Who loses which resources in the process, and who gains which ones? What resources does a person possess who has no material or monetary capital to their name? How, in turn, can resources be shared beyond neoliberal logics of relevance? Who needs whom – and for what?

In short: “Just Wait Until You\u2019re My Age!” is a) an intergenerational – and thus multi-perspective – research project on the right to age, and b) a literal invitation to step into each other\u2019s shoes, to exchange ideas, support, encourage, and understand one another.

The research project begins in the summer of 2026 with young people from the city:<\/strong>

We\u2019ll meet with school classes of various age groups who are on the cusp of so-called “adulthood”:

How do they perceive their opportunities for the future? How do they view the years they still have ahead of them – both quantitatively and qualitatively? Where do they place aging on their life timeline, or rather, when does aging begin for them? What common ground do young people and older people share when it comes to the fact that both generations are not yet – or are no longer – part of the workforce? And how do they share their longing for youth or old age?

After summer break, we\u2019ll continue the research with more young people, and on September 26, Antje Pfundtner in Gesellschaft and the young people from the research group will jointly host a public Tischgesellschaft at the Junges SchauSpielHaus Hamburg:

Antje Pfundtner and Anne Kersting\u2019s “Tischgesellschaften” are a platform for dialogue aimed at fostering a continuous exchange of knowledge.

In connection with their new stage production at Kampnagel Hamburg in 2027, they would like to discuss the following questions with young people: How do you feel about getting older? When does aging begin? How do you envision your future in these uncertain times? And where are the age-less common ground in intergenerational dialogue?

Through conversation and movement, they explore the similarities and differences in their life stages and invite participants to examine the cross-generational phenomenon of aging together.

Funded by the Freie und Hansestadt Hamburg, Beh\u00f6rde f\u00fcr Kultur und Medien, as part of Shared Leadership in Dance (SLiD). SLiD is a commitment to collaboration and to sharing knowledge, resources, and labor in the field of dance.
