Ich bin nicht du (2019, Work on commission Junges Theater Bremen)

World Premiere: May 25th, 2019, Theater Bremen

„The bear looked at himself in the mirror and smiled. ,It’s nice to get to know me,‘ he said. ,Also nice to get to know me,‘ he answered politely. ,I immediately had the feeling that I am me,‘ he said, ,I feel like I know me.‘ ,Me too,‘ he answered.“ (Oren Lavie)

Who am I? What can I do? Where do I come from? Who belongs to me? What do I want to be like? Can I determine on my own, what I want to be like? Or do I have to submit to others’ expectations of me? Am I brave enough to be the way I feel? Together with the Hamburg choreographer Antje Pfundtner, the Ensemble of the Moks developed a dance piece that deals with questions of individual identity.

„The piece alternates between humor and seriousness; the primary school audience is curious up until the last minute – laughter abounds. (…). Although the images and dialogues are often abstract, the young audience is still enraptured. Or better: precisely because of this. It is a piece that lives from not forcing an opinion on anyone – which then, in a best-case scenario, leads to discussion.“ Jonas Mielke/ Weser Kurier
